Bold black cabinetry, warm timber detailing and statement stone come together in a contemporary kitchen designed to make an impact without compromising on functionality.

The vision for this kitchen was clear from the outset: a modern space that felt bold and sophisticated, while still retaining warmth and character. A black palette became the foundation of the design, with timber detailing introduced through the wall cabinetry to soften the darker finishes and bring natural texture into the space.
The sinks and tapware were carefully selected to work with the benchtop, helping create a cohesive finish without drawing attention away from the stone.
The scullery plays an important role in the overall design. The clients chose to use it as their main preparation and working kitchen, allowing the island and statement stone in the main kitchen to remain uncluttered. Archant Sarnen Black continues the dark palette through the scullery, creating a strong connection between the two spaces while keeping much of the everyday functionality tucked away.
The design continues through to the laundry, where a lighter palette provides a contrast to the darker tones of the kitchen and scullery. The whiter finishes create a fresh, practical space while still feeling connected to the overall design of the home.

Bestwood Black Timberland and Melteca Aged Walnut Natural bring depth and contrast to the kitchen, while the handleless cabinetry keeps the overall look clean and refined. Mercer Aurora sinks in copper add another considered detail across the kitchen and scullery.
